Jay Davis Bourland, 60, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on June 6, 2024, in Abilene, TX

A 1982 Abilene High School Graduate, Jay was a dedicated member of the Eagle Golf Team. He pursued higher education at Texas Tech University before returning to his hometown to embark on a successful career. Jay's professional journey led him to Bourland Services, Abilene ISD, where he established the Central Receiving Department, and various dental practices where he managed, supervised, and consulted for more than two decades.

In his leisure time, Jay enjoyed dutch oven cooking, experimenting in the kitchen, golfing, traveling, and junking. He was a cherished husband, father, "Jpop," son, brother, "Poppa," uncle, friend, and mentor.  Jay was known for his willingness to help others and his love of family.  Everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with Jay would tell you what a good man he was, how hard he worked and how friendly he was.

Jay is survived by his mother, Doan Bourland; his wife, Scottye Bourland; his son, John Wyatt (Nicole); his daughter, Miranda McCollough(Ryan); his sister, Dawn Bourland (Vicki); his brothers, Jim Bourland (Deonna), Bret Bourland (Jennifer), Bart Bourland (Amanda); six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other beloved family members. He is preceded in death by his father, David Bourland; his uncle, Jimmy Dan Bourland; and his nephew, Brody, Bourland.

A come & go Celebration of Jay’s life and legacy will be held on, Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 5049 Oldham Ln, Fellowship Bldg, from 2PM to 4PM.
