Joann Little

Phoebe Joann Webb Little, 81, passed away on January 29, 2024, in Abilene, Texas, at Hendrick Hospice. A casual celebration of her life will be held Saturday morning February 3, 2024, at Hamby Baptist Church Brady Hall, at 11 a.m. 156 CR Rd 503 Joann, AKA Grammy, was born in Colorado City, Texas on January 8, 1943, to Wayland Gaylord and Georgia Pearl Webb. She married a race car driver, Jimmy “Lips” Little, on August 25, 1962, after nursing him back to health following a road race crash. They had two boys, David, and Danny. Grammy was most proud of her two grandsons, James, and Noah. She graduated from the Cisco Junior College LVN program in 1977 and had a 35-year career as a nurse at Abilene Regional Medical Center. She was an avid card Canasta player, which she played weekly with her friends. She was an active member at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church and a volunteer at the Rose Park Senior Citizen Center. Joann is survived in death by her favorite sister-in-law, Ruth Webb, of Lafayette, Alabama, her sons David Little of Abilene, and Danny (Trudy) Little and her grandsons James and Noah of Goodlettsville, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Little, her parents, and her brother, Tommy Webb. The family would like to thank the incredible staff of both Continue Care Hospital at Hendrick Medical Center, and the staff of Hendrick Hospice Care.
