Jody Biba

June 7, 1948 — September 29, 2023

Jo Lynne (Jody) Biba, 75, of Knox City, passed away on September 29, 2023, in Abilene, TX. Jody was born in Stamford, TX, to Glen and Dorothy Cox on June 7, 1948. She grew up in Andrews, TX and graduated from Andrews High School in 1966. She lived and worked in west TX until moving to Haskell, TX in 1980. She pursued multiple career paths over the years, including cosmetology, dietician, restaurant ownership, bartending, and mental health services until she retired in 2008. At this time, she found her favorite gig, substitute teaching at Knox City High School. She was a crafter, and seamstress, and also enjoyed trying out new recipes. Jody was a talker and never met a stranger, her granddaughters were the light of her life. If the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, or the University of Texas Longhorns were playing, you can bet her TV was on. And she cheered on the Knox City Greyhounds and Houndettes either from the stands or through social media, as she was one of their biggest supporters. She spent the last few months at Munday Nursing Center in Munday, TX. Jody was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Dorothy Cox, Jody is survived by her sons, Michael Blocker of Dallas, and Jason Biba of Clyde, a daughter Christie Howeth (Colin) of Knox City, sister, Nelda Morales (Carlos) of Austin, four granddaughters; Gracie and Eren Howeth of Knox City, and Kelsey and Jolee Biba of Abilene. One sister, Nelda Morales (Carlos) of Austin and her best friend Carol Swindell of Seymour. We invite Jody’s family and friends to share stories and celebrate Jody’s life at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the Wooden Nickel in Knox City, TX with Rick Moeller of Weinert Foursquare Church officiating.
