Johnny Marvin Newman, 68, of Noodle, passed away on March 12, 2024, at his home.

Johnny Marvin Newman was born in Clinton, OK, to Peggy Maud Clark and Marvin Glenn Newman on February 26, 1956.  He went to school at Abilene High. He married his first love, Lori on February 27, 1981, in Abilene. Upon their marriage, Johnny gained a bonus child, his stepdaughter, Stephanie. They welcomed their son, Johnny Glenn Newman, in July 1981. They were happily married until Lori was called home to Heaven in September 1983.

On June 16, 1998, Johnny Marvin Newman and Jeannie were married in Abilene. They remained happily married until Jeannie was called home to Heaven in April 2017.

Johnny worked as a mechanic for Kent’s Harley Davidson for 32 years. He cherished moments with his family and enjoyed helping his son with his motorcycle. His hobby involved tinkering with remote-controlled cars.

Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Laureen “Lori” Venice (Click) Newman; his father, Marvin Glenn Newman; his brother Anthony Chris Newman; his second wife, Julia “Jeannie” (Witt) Newman; his mother, Peggy Maud Newman; his niece, Michelle Moore; and his beloved cat, Bubba.

Johnny Marvin Newman is survived by his son, Johnny Glenn Newman and wife Saucha, of Noodle, TX; stepdaughter, Stephanie Townsand, husband John, and children Alynna and Caleb of Las Cruces, NM; his sister, Tammy Walker and husband David of Potosi, TX; nephew, Nathan Walker and his wife Devin of Albany, TX; 3 grandchildren, Jaelin, Jade, and Bella Newman; 4 great-nieces, Abigail Eickenhorst, Allena Moore, Amelia Moore and Aisley Walker; 2 great-nephews, Rylon Bechtold and Wyatt Creed Walker; nephew-in-law, Allen Moore; and his beloved cat, Lacy.

A memorial bike ride led by his son Johnny G. will start at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 6, 2024. Everyone wishing to participate in the memorial ride to the graveside service is welcome to meet at Kent’s Harley Davidson, 3106 S Clack St, Abilene, and follow family and friends to the Eula Cemetery. Graveside service will begin at 2:30 PM at the Eula Cemetery. Cremation services are under the direction of West Central Texas Cremation.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a motorcycle ride in his honor if possible. The family of Johnny Marvin Newman wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Hospice of the Big Country for the care he received so he could cross over peacefully in the comfort of his own home.
