Robert Don Wood

Robert Don “Bob” Wood, 74, of Abilene, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 9, 2024, in Abilene, TX.

Robert was born in Memphis, TX, to DeAlyss (Eddins) and R.V. (Pete) Wood on September 19, 1949.  He graduated from Canyon High School in 1968. He went on to attend Texas Tech University, graduating in 1974. He loved his time and memories made at Texas Tech University and remained a loyal fan throughout his life. He went to work at Bilbo Transports in 1991. He married Blanca Beall in 2011. He enjoyed playing golf, attending family reunions, and dancing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, DeWitt Martin Wood; and step-son Samuel Beall.

Bob is survived by his wife, Blanca Beall; children, Cory Wood (Naomi), Zach Wood (Briseida), Whitney Wood (Jeff Beattie), and Oscar Beall; grandchildren, Taylor, Callie, Damien, Sebastian, Amiya, Chloe and a baby girl Eliana that is due next month; siblings, Sandra Jo (Wood) Mosley and Michael Ray Wood; and a host of other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Wylie Methodist Church, 3430 Antilley Road, Abilene, with Pastor Jeff Hatcher, officiating. Services are under the direction of West Central Texas Cremation.
