Rodney Glenn Pierce, 65, of Rule, Texas, passed away on March 24, 2025.
Rod was born on October 19, 1959, in Knox City, Texas to Nicki Dodd and Frank Edward Pierce. He was a 1978 graduate of Stamford High School. Through boom and bust, he worked for various oilfield companies for the duration of his life. He was an open hole and production fisherman. As a dedicated oilfield worker, he was most known for his technical ability and years of experience fishing. In many circles, he was also known for his generosity, sense of humor, and rebellious nature.
Rod is survived by his son, Matthew Pierce of Haskell; daughter, Kara Pierce of Haskell; grandson, Crete Briggs of Haskell; mother, Theresa (Hughes) and David Baucum of Abilene; brothers: Tony and Sue Pierce of Austin, Ken and Lori Pierce of Yarmouth, Maine, Pat and Sharon Pierce of Stamford, and David and Sheila Pruitt of Marion; sister, Terri Pruitt of Abilene and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Nicki Dodd and Frank Edward Pierce.
A come and go visitation with the family will be held to honor Rod’s memory on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Orient Street Church of Christ, 510 S. Orient, Stamford, Texas.
