Venna Kay Kirby

Venna Kay Kirby, 77, of Anson TX, passed away on April 25th 2023 at her home in Anson tx. Kirby was born in Grand Forks, ND to Alton Kirby & Dorthy Wall on December 10th 1946. She graduated high school in midland tx. She worked as a Counselor with the department of Justice, federal bureau of prisons for 15 years, then visitation with TDCJ for 13 years 9 months. She was a Vietnam era veteran and served in the marines as a Sgt for 5 years and was awarded Rifle Expert Badge, National Defense Sercice Medal, Good Conduct Medal, & Letter of Appreciation. She also received a Letter of Appreciation from the U.S. Army Reserves for her time of service, and a Federal Employee of the Year Technical Runner Up award during her time with the federal prison system. Kirby was preceded in death by her mother & father Dorothy & Alton, brother Wayne, & Sister Pat, & her childeren ( fur babies ) pretty boy & tiger. Kirby is survived by her childeren ( fur babies ) Cherokee, Lil Bit, Pup, Girl, Dakota, Cheyenne, Stinky, Tux, Jr, Lil One, Lil blue, Bodayo, Lillyana, & Bradley. TDCJ family, close friends Chris & Brent, Uncle Don Kirby, 2 Cousins Shelly Jewel, & Carrol Sutherland. Services & Burial will be held May 15th 11:00am at Texas State VA cemetery 7457 W lake rd.
